Oakland County Top 10

1 Birmingham Detroit Country Day (9-0) – Amir Williams may be on the sidelines for the next few weeks, but Mahesh "The Microwave" Umansekar has just arrived, to give the 'Jackets high-voltage scoring in a hurry off the bench. Umansekar, a 6-1 junior sniper, is the definition of instant heat and head coach Kurt Keener isn't afraid to give him the green light.

2 Clarkston (5-1) – Matt Kamieniecki, Matt Kamieniecki, Matt Kamieniecki…enough said!!!

3 Southfield (6-1) – Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive……it's the Blue Jays very own hoops superhero, "Captain Amazing"…er…Carlton Brundidge  (32 points in the second half of a comeback win over S-Lathrup last week). What can't this kid do on the hardwood?

4 Birmingham Seaholm (6-0) – "The Crazy Cuz Connection" of Richaud Pack and Shawn Conway form one heckuva 1-2 punch. Brand new point guard, Christian Pino has been nothing but cash money running the Maples' offense and three year-starter Jack Quigley is getting it done in the paint. A little more production from the supporting cast wouldn't hurt the squad's chances at claiming its first district title in over a dozen years.

5 RH Adams (5-0) – The Highlanders Joey Dillon and Conner Boyle make-up possibly the most underrated backcourt in the entire state

5 West Bloomfield (4-3) – I've said it before and I'll say it again, the Lakers have the best overall frontcourt in the county in Larry Johnson, Spencer Parker, and David Pool.

6 North Farmington (5-3) – OAA Conference beware: 6-8 junior DCD transfer Urban Bingham is coming to town and he's not going to be taking any prisoners!!! Robert Hogans gets better every game and Kyle Vinales is….well….Kyle Vinales.

7 Southfield-Lathrup (3-5) – I'm betting that Chargers head coach Mike Avery would love to have transfers Joe Baker (Clawson) and Herb Alexander (Birmingham Groves) back on his rosters right now to give a helping hand to his already terrific trio of Roy "Shuttlesworth" Marble, Drew "G-Money" Gilchrest, and Bryan "B-Money" Coleman.

8 Pontiac (2-4) – The Phoenix are struggling right now, but Burney has a feeling these fellas will still be playing in the Class A regionals come March Madness time.

9 Walled Lake Central (6-1) – I'm nicknaming Joe Zurbrickas, "The Brickhouse", cause this kid is just so darn sturdy in the post for the Vikings and basically 'cause game is as solid as a brickhouse.

10 a. Clawson (8-0) – Their chance of an undefeated season took a hit with a shoulder injury to senior co-captain, Rob Feeman last Friday night. However 2^nd year head coach Billy Shellenbarger is one of the brightest young coaching minds in the area and junior Joe "The Show" Baker's hoops game is as cool as the other side of the pillow.

10 b. Waterford Mott (5-1) – The Corsairs' John Schaeffer is a cold-blooded assassin and his backcourt-mate Devontay Green is a demon of activity all over the floor wrecking havoc on opposing team's both offensively and defensively.

10 c. Stoney Creek (5-1) – The Cougars' Jake Fortner could be the hardest working player in Oakland County! Was that Carter Curtis (12 points and an eye-popping 21 rebound, 13 of which were offensive) out there playing for Tha Creek last week against Adams or was it former NBA board-king Dennis
