The OC Top 10 – Boys Basketball Rankings

1 Birmingham Detroit Country Day (3-0) – Pound-for-pound, senior point guard Ray McCallum is the best player in the state. Amir Williams is just starting to come into his own and realize how dominant he can be in the post. Junior combo-guard, Chris Fowler is an emerging star.

2 Clarkston (0-1) – The Wolves looked strong in their opening night loss to a very good Detroit Henry Ford squad on Saturday. Junior transfer Marcus Hardy will end up being the X-factor in whether or not the Wolves have another regional championship-winning season, per standard procedure in the hoops-rich tradition of C-Town boy's bball.

3 Southfield-Lathrup (0-1) – Roy Marble, Jr. was impressive in the Chargers opening game loss to Detroit King Saturday, scoring 26 points and hauling down 13 rebounds.

4 Southfield (1-1) – Junior center Patrick Owenu's stock is on the rise. Brundidge, Barnes and company will have to bounce back quick from their less than stellar outing in Saturday night's loss to Detroit Douglas. Trey Ware has looked nice shooting the ball so far.

6 North Farmington (2-0) – Kyle Vinales is just pure brilliance scoring the basketball. Robert Hogans could have a breakout year. Tommy Doyle can stroke the ball from the perimeter with the best of them. Urban Bingham will be a force to be reckoned with in the paint when he becomes eligible in January.

5 Birmingham Seaholm (2-0) – Crazy-good cousins and best friends, Richaud Pack and Shawn Conway are a dominant pair who impose their will on opposing defenses. Transfer point guard Christian Pino will be a catalyst who doesn't score a lot but controls tempo and distributes the rock beautifully.

7 Pontiac (0-1) – The Phoenix attack is still a work in progress with the blending of all the new faces on the roster. Just too small up front to compete with highly-ranked Detroit Southeastern, who they matched-up with and eventually lost to in the season opener on Saturday. Ant Adams is under the radar in recruiting circles, but as dangerous as can be running an offense.

8 West Bloomfield (2-0) – A little ornery from not getting what they believed was a fair shake in the pre-season polls, the Lakers have come out of the gate playing great basketball. Much like last season, WB is balanced, quick, and athletic. Larry Johnson, David Pool, and Spencer Parker could make a legitimate argument that they're one of the best frontcourts in the county.

9 Novi (2-0) – Junior forward Samer Ozier could be one of the top players in the entire area by season's end. Ozier is a dead-eye shooter with excellent range and the ability to take defenders down low and score in the post. He's not afraid to get after it on the boards and displays a steel-piercing mentality every time he's on the floor

10 (a) AH Avondale (1-0) – The fleet-footed and fiery backcourt of Tony Harris and Ray Tillman make the Yellow Jackets tough to game plan for – both can do so much. 

10 (b) Stoney Creek (2-0) – Kevin Bolhuis, Arie Elder and Jake Fortner are trying to make it a senior year to remember for the Cougars' Class of 2010.
